It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Bill Stone aged 108 and a Merchant veteran of the ‘First War’. In his nineties when we first met, he was – as many know – a ready-voiced singer and a raconteur of a century of sometimes painful, frequently hilarious history. More than that, he was forever learning about the world around him and forever interested in everyone. Peace be with you and yours, Bill.
